Description

Research has also demonstrated that walnut oil can help to regulate blood sugar levels making it suitable for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes. According to studies, walnut oil can help reduce blood sugar levels while also increasing the body’s production of insulin. In conclusion, we showed that addition of 15 ml walnut oil to previous diet of diabetics, for 90 days, significantly decreased the total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride and total cholesterol to HDL ratio, which are all important in management of diabetes. It can be hypothesized that these effects may have an impact on reduction of CAD risk of and other disease-related complications in diabetic patients. Additionally, walnut oil may serve as a helpful natural remedy in hyperlipidemic patients with type 2 diabetes.

Health Benefits

A 100-gram portion of hazelnuts contains 15.03 milligrams of alpha-tocopherol, second only to the 25.87 milligrams in almonds. In more practical terms, a 1-ounce snack portion of hazelnuts provides 4.2 milligrams of vitamin E, or 20 percent of your daily value. A study published in 2012 in the European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology found similar levels of alpha-tocopherol in multiple samples of hazelnut oil.

Hazelnuts have a number of benefits aside from their vitamin E content. They’re also a source of B vitamins, notably thiamine, and a number of minerals. Just 1 ounce of hazelnuts contains 86 percent of your DV for manganese, used in the production of sex hormones and the metabolism of fat. They’re also a good source of copper, magnesium and iron.

Soybean Oil

Can help reduce coronary heart disease, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently awarded a qualified health claim for soybean oil and heart disease, noting that a daily intake of approximately 1½ tablespoons of soybean oil as a replacement for sources of saturated fat in the diet, could reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Soybean oil is one of the main oils that contains high amounts of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids (MUFA and PUFA). This specific fatty acid composition helps to reduce blood cholesterol fractions, thus lowering the risk of heart disease.
